  • The State of California Research and Development Tax Credit allows companies to receive a 15% tax credit for qualified in-house research expenses made in California. To qualify, a taxpayer’s research must be conducted within California and include basic or applied research of scientific inquiry, original investigation for the advancement of scientific or engineering knowledge or improved function of a business component.

  • The Jewish Free Loan Association (JFLA) provides interest-free loans to Los Angeles residents for a variety of purposes, including small business development.

  • The U.S. Commercial Service is the export promotion arm of the U.S. Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration. With its trade professionals in over 100 U.S. cities and in more than 75 countries, the U.S. Commercial Service assists U.S. companies, especially small-and-medium-sized companies, to grow their exports to new international markets. The Commercial Service also advances and protects U.S. commercial interests overseas and attracts inward investment to the United States.   • The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) was created in 1953 as an independent agency of the federal government to aid, counsel, assist and protect the interests of small business concerns, to preserve free competitive enterprise and to maintain and strengthen the overall economy of our nation. The SBA’s Office of International Trade’s mission is to support small business international trade development. The office works in cooperation with other federal agencies and public- and private- sector groups to encourage small business exports and to assist small businesses seeking to export.

  • The United Valley Chambers of Commerce represents a coalition of 18 Valley-based Chambers and provides networking and business development opportunities for small businesses within the San Fernando Valley.

  • The Universal City/North Hollywood Chamber of Commerce provides resources, programs and other benefits to members and the local business community.

  • The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power Utility Infrastructure Loan Program provides loans to commercial/industrial customers to purchase and install qualifying projects for energy efficiency and water conservation needs.

  • The Valley Economic Alliance (VEA) is a non-profit collaborative made up of businesses, government, education and community organizations in the San Fernando Valley. The VEA offers a business assistance program, in partnership with the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corp, to help businesses with permits, site selection, financing, tax credits and other technical assistance.

  • The Venice Chamber of Commerce provides resources, programs and other benefits to members and the local business community.
