Resources and Incentives

  • The Economic and Workforce Development Department's Rapid Response Program assists downsizing businesses with staffing support for their employees. Services include career counseling, job search assistance, unemployment insurance, and education & training opportunities.

  • There are 17 WorkSource Centers located throughout LA that provide a variety of workforce training and job referral programs for new and operating businesses, including: free advertising of open positions, customized training for staff, interview rooms, and information for businesses affected by plant closures or layoffs.

  • The Los Angeles County Float Loan Program provides short-term loans for land acquisition, construction, equipment, and working capital for businesses, private developers and public agencies.

  • The Technology Loan Program provides loans for start-up tech companies located within the LA Innovation Network.

  • The LA Cyber Lab helps LA businesses combat cyber attacks by allowing businesses to sign up and receive cyber threat information and best practices to protect their business - free of charge.

  • New businesses that are unfamiliar with the City of Los Angeles’ technical processes can request case management services to assist with electric service planning, water service planning, engineering requirements, meter service and city and utility programs and incentives.

  • In the event of a disaster, the Small Business Administration offers loans up to $2 million to qualifying business that have suffered substantial economic injury.

  • The Emergency loan program help producers who suffer qualifying farm related losses directly caused by the disaster in a county declared or designated as a primary disaster or quarantine area.

  • The Employment Training Panel (ETP) provides funding to employers to assist in upgrading the skills of their workers through training that leads to good paying, long-term jobs.

  • Empowering Pacific Islander Communities (EPIC) empowers leaders through civic engagement and leadership development.
